Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice

The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Currently Unavailable

No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Player's Recent Legal Issues

Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.

On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
